The first class of graduates under the ValleyBuild Partnership is out in the work force and a new class in Fresno begins this July.

The ValleyBuild team is preparing to bring in a new organization dedicated to recruiting and supporting women in the skilled construction trades.

As a young man, Ho Ly couldn’t see a solid career in his future. He tried community college and training as a car mechanic, but those avenues didn’t lead anywhere. Before and after a stint in prison, Ly jumped from one low-paying job to another in construction, warehouses and more.

he COVID-19 pandemic cost Adrian Gooden his job at a Clovis hotel. Even though he had a college degree and plenty of experience, Gooden couldn't find another job because no one was hiring. At the top of his mind were his two young children and fiancé.
